OUR HISTORY

The Storage gallery, located in Saint-Ouen-l’Aumône, a close suburb of Paris, was created in 2010. At that time, it left its mark on the artistic landscape with its atypical and innovative project, attracting the attention of internationally renowned gallery owners. The idea of establishing a gallery on the outskirts of the French capital quickly aroused interest and opened the way to new thoughts on art off the beaten track.

The choice of Saint-Ouen-l’Aumône is not insignificant. Near Auvers-sur-Oise, an emblematic place of the Impressionist movement, the gallery is part of a rich artistic heritage. Auvers was the refuge of famous painters such as Vincent Van Gogh during the second half of the 19th century, who found creative inspiration in these landscapes. The Storage’s presence in this region helps weave a captivating cultural ensemble, combining modern and contemporary art, while paying homage to a glorious artistic past.

Unlike the majority of galleries concentrated in the heart of Paris, The Storage has been able to take advantage of its location in the suburbs. The industrial building which houses it, supported by steel beams, offers more than 3,000 m² of space. Its large open rooms, with impressive ceiling height, are ideal for hosting large-scale works, allowing artists to express their creativity without constraint. In addition, the gallery has a landscaped garden that combines nature, architecture and sculptures. Palm trees and rhododendrons flourish harmoniously around slate arches which dominate a pond inhabited by Japanese carp. This outdoor space is intended to be a true oasis of serenity, enriching the visitor experience.

Long considered the flagship gallery of contemporary French artist Philippe Pasqua, recognized as one of the major creators of his generation, The Storage is evolving into a new phase. In a perpetual quest for innovation, it will soon transform into a multi-artist gallery. Pasqua’s works will coexist with those of other established artists, thus promoting a dynamic dialogue between the different creations. This project promises to diversify the artistic offering while preserving the unique identity of The Storage, which continues to assert itself as a meeting and exchange space for art enthusiasts.
